It’s true that at some point in time just about all of us may need the help of a lawyer. These days, bankruptcy attorneys are busier than they have been in many years previous. It’s no mystery that most people start their search for a bankruptcy law firm or just about any other types of law firms by using one of the three major search engines. Because most people begin their search by typing in the area of practice rather than a geographic location, the returns rarely bring local law firms. For example, if someone were to type in Long Island Law Firms or Long Island Bankruptcy Law Firms they would most like get search results of local bankruptcy firms in Long Island. However, the typical search entry is merely the area of practice, such as “bankruptcy” and the returned results are typically research and reference sites.
However, one type site that often comes up may be one or more of the large national legal directories. Lawyers around the country have paid huge sums of money to be in these directories. Yet, they yeild very few results for those lawyers because these directories are loaded with legal information. This information ends up being nothing more than a distraction that leads the person in need of legal assistance down the road toward “legal do-it-yourself” and as such, offers little value to the attorney who pays to be there.
