We’ve been using it for hundreds of years and whilst the design and science behind them may have changed significantly the same basic principle remains the same, but how does wind energy work?
Well, it’s actually quite straight forward, the wind blows the sails or blades around which turns a series of rotors inside the head of the turbine which then rotate fast enough to generate power.
Energy generation seems to be turning a full circle in that we are returning to some of the older ways of creating power albeit in a much more updated advanced and modern way. Doing this puts less pressure on our rapidly depleting stores of fossil fuels.
Global wind power has been developed in different countries and will continue to be encouraged as an alternative way of producing power without doing more damage to our one and only planet.
